While romance movies and horror movies are very popular genres, there is an ongoing debate on whether a certain one is better than the other. However romance movies are superior to horror movies because they can be relatable or provide comfort to people that are going through a hard time.
Movies
While some may say Romance movies are predictable because they tend to have the same storyline, there are movies that have romance and comedy in them or even varying plot twists. The films “Ten things I hate about you,” “Clueless,” “the proposal,”and “27 Dresses” are all great examples. Watching Romance movies is a way some people get their emotions out, while others prefer another option like a suspenseful movie with horror, comedy and romance. One example that comes to mind is the new movie released this year “Heart eyes”. Mainly because the plot is all about a killer that goes around murdering couples near Valentine’s day. When one fake couple keeps escaping they are hunted and fall for each other, ultimately keeping the romance in the movie but still with the suspense..(Recommend). It really expresses the feeling of a ‘‘sweetly sinister” atmosphere with ‘hilarious’ moments, making it a unique and fun genre mashup”.
