Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman elected to Congress, she was an innovative politician and educator who famously described herself as “unbought and unbossed. She fiercely advocated for minorities, focusing her career on economic and social justice. Constantly pursuing gender, racial, and educational equality. Chisholm was a role model to the minorities of America, she heavily pursued change and broke systematic barriers in order to do so. She was not afraid of the system and actively pushed against it, paving the way to success for the future People of Color(POC).
